For about two or three years I have wanted to make a bow but was not sure that I could. I didn’t know how to do it or what was needed. A couple of months ago, after some research on the Internet and reading a few books from the library on the subject I decided to try making one. I made the bow out of a hickory board, being a good, durable wood for the task and something I could buy locally. This is the finished product along with an arrow I made. It pulls 50# @ 29″, is 66″ nock to nock and has about 2 1/2″ of set. I twisted a string from dracon B-50 (bow string material) and stitched a piece of leather around the handle.
